Welcome to the sale of my Rover 220 GTI. I've owned the car for nearly 2 years now and it's currently on 49600 miles although this may rise slightly.
This is a very rare car with less than 20 tax and tested left on the road.
Bodywork
The car is incredibly clean for its age there is a few slight age related marks as to be expected but overall its very good there is no nasty car park dings and the car is 100% rust free.
I have just spend a considerable amount of money having the rear arches restored which is normally the weak point on these cars. This was all done professionally cutting out all the suspect metal and fabricating new parts where needed. No bodge jobs here! I have over 30 photos to show the new owner to prove the quality of the work! In addition to this the front and rear bumpers, spoiler and mirror caps have also been resprayed to bring the car up to standard.
Engine
The car has the 2 litre T series (Not k!) Engine fitted. It runs sweet as a nut and pulls incredibly well, the cambelt was replaced april 2021 and the head gasket has been changed to cure the standard t series oil leak where it seeps from the left corner. I have receipts for all this work. I have also fitted custom made stainless coolant pipes because the steel ones corroded through and fitted a strut brace color coded to match the wheels.
Interior.
The interior is in very good condition, the drivers bolster has minimal age related wear (no rips or tears) the other seats look barely sat in! Everything works ( electric mirrors, sunroof, windows) the headlining is a bit loose but it's not majorly sagging it's certainly fine for a while yer.
Wheels
The car has freshly refurbed roversport 'starfish' alloys which don't have a mark on them and uniroyal tyres all with plenty of tread.
I have pages and pages of receipts for this car dating back to 1995, every rover booklet and every mot certificate from new.
The car also sports some nice original touches such as original dealer plates, tax disc and dealer sticker and rover plastic headlight covers and rubber mats.
