First registered in April 1972, The Rt Hon Earl of Yarbourgh took delivery of this Rover and continued to enjoy it untill 1991 when the car was laid up only covering 42K miles. In 2013 the vehicle was passed to his former chauffer who arranged its first MOT in years and sold the car to me in November 2014. I have had many things done to the car in my ownership including, some welding to inner rear wings, Exhaust, Head gaskets replaced, New carpets, Electronic ignition, servicing every year. The car has covered 61200 miles. Please look on gov. uk mot history to see what has been needed. Last year the steering box was leaking, it has been sent for reconditioning and they have indeed cured the leak however now the car looses assisance on a left lock. Perhaps due to the lack of miles this year, the car is not running properly and keeps cutting out.. Would be wise to trailer away. In the last month it has had a brand new master cylinder / Servo. Bodywork, under the front windscreen is showing the usual corrosion, worse on the right hand side. rear wings are jsut starting to show corrosion. Sit inside the car and the leather and wood just takes you back to a time where cars were a little more individual. Such a great car that really needs a mechanical mind behind it to take it to its next 51 years. I have loved every single mile of this elder statesman however, a new house means a new dedicated owner is needed fot the Rt Hon. I accept work is needed to bring this up to tip top condition however I believe this price is set correctly, and therefore has very little movement. The vehicle is located in Southampton however not at my address as I do not have a garage. With some TLC you will be able to drive this car with pride as I have done, It has a great knack of putting a very big grin on your face when you whaft down the road in it.
