Just finished this beautiful 1965 One previous owner Californian Black Plate was a survivor Ford Mustang finished in a mirror finish custom black water-based colour scheme with very high quality clearcoat.(more tinter so blacker than usual blacks) with a carbonized grey GT stripe.
Purchased from the Original owner who bought it new in California in 1965 and used it all his driving life. It was used as his main vehicle until he stopped driving in 2000 and there it sat in a climate controlled underground car park until 20222. Has a large number of receipts and other treasures from it’s previous life in the states, Engine and the transmission were rebuilt at 122, 000 odd so unusually for mustangs we are able to know its exact mileage as most are well over 300, 000.
Runs and drives and stops as you’d expect a just renovated well looked after one owner car would (drove 70 miles through the mountains of Snowdonia no issues at all). Steering and suspension are positive and firm but comfortable if you wanted to do longer trips. Plenty of power when you need it for a relatively stock 289.
Mileage will increase as will be using it.

Deluxe original interior bar the seat covers (at the time pony seats weren’t available)
Remarkable underneath Zero rust and as it left San Jose in 1965 & all original Sheetmetal with all the date stamps in all the good places.

Suspension / Steering: Upper & Lower Control Arms, Inner and Outer Tie Rods, manual steering center link, Idler arm, Sway bar bushings, Stabiliser links, Spring Perches, Spring Isolators, 1” Performance front lowering Springs, 1” performance 5 leaf springs, shocks all round, steering box checked and greased, rear leaf shackles and bushes & v belt.
Cooling: 3 core alloy radiator, thermostat, continental entire blue hose kit, alloy water pump, correct coolant, 220w electric fan, thermostat gasket.
Braking: Wilwood front disc kit, Dual master cylinder conversion specifically for manual front discs / rear drums, kunifer brake lines, proportioning valve, brake fluid, rear wheel cylinders matched to the master / discs, rear brake flexi.
Engine: 4 bbl alloy intake, Holley 4 bbl carb, Edelbrock pro flo air cleaner, intake gaskets, temperature sensor, vacuum hoses, screen wash pipework, plug wires, rotor & cap, Petronix electronic points conversion & coil, engine and engine bay refinished, new alternator & v belt, battery & battery tie down, spark plugs, oil filer and correct oil.
Exhaust: Custom stainless with flowmaster back boxes.
Transmission: Checked, new filter & gasket, pan refinished, correct transmission fluid change.
Other: New bumpers, all original trim refinished, carpet, sound deadening, windshield wipers, pioneer 6x9’s & head unit, centre console refinished, door seals (to go on when paint cures), trunk seal, boot / trunk raptor lined, grille refinished, new emblems, Shelby scoop, antenna, gas cap, wing mirror.
