Description
The Cooper RSP was the special edition, relaunch of the Cooper which had been absent since the 1960s.
Having many special features (detailed through the listing), the Cooper RSP became an instant success and is one of the most collectible Mini’s of the period.
This RSP has benefited from a restoration 4 years ago that had any rust or corrosion affected panels replaced, engine and gearbox rebuild and a complete bare body respray. That said it is a 33 year old car and has the wear and patina associated with its mileage and use.
The RSP package included a 1275cc engine, HiF 44 carb, Oil cooler, colour coded wheel arches. mirrors and rear light. Sunroof, twin spots, half-leather seats with Cooper tags and Red leather steering wheel. RSP style alloys with new tyres. Cooper signed decals on bonnet.
The engine has been recently tuned by AC Dodd who made the engine reach its original performance and is easy to start and run.
Please look at the attached pictures and be free to ask any questions. I have host of pictures taken during the restoration and will include them if needed. Although it has a great performance it only cost me £116 to insure fully comprehensive including break-down cover. Great to drive and very eye-catching. Being a member of various mini and cooper clubs gives the opportunity to compare this RSP with others to keep it in top condition.
