1930 Austin Seven Short Wheel Bese. Saloon Eligible for VSCC Light Car Events.
Very Original. Coupled 4 wheel brakes. Re-trimmed in leather with wool carpets.
Petrol tank Ethanol proofed. Indicators and LED lighting.
Restored 20 years ago but not used for 17 years Engine had been rebuilt but I decided to fit new Main bearings as the car had stood unused fo rso long. Braking system completely overhauled and 11/ 4" linings and new heavier drums fitted. New Bowden front brake cables and new rear brake levers fitted. Cork washers to petrol tap renewed and an additional petrol tap fitted for added security. Radiator hoses replaced together with new fan pulley and belt. Locking door handles fitted. Vacuum windscreen wiper replaced with electric as more reliable. Starter motor overhauled. New battery and isolating switch fitted. Correct closed centre wheels and good Avon tyres. Bronze FZ carburettor fitted as much better than the FZB. 1936 cylinder head is fitted at present but all original parts are included in the sale. New rear springs and shock absorbers refurbished.
Car has covered almost a thousand miles in the last twelve months and attended the Austin Seven Centenary Rally at Morton in the Marsh. I have spent a considerable amount of time and money getting the car to its present condition and though there are a few minor items, which could be attended to the car is in fine fettle.
Not a Concourse car but a good vintage Saloon for Light Car events .
Priced to sell at £ 7000 ono. Replaced by another Austin Seven.
Ideal for V. S. C. C. Light Car Section winter events.
Ideal car for the Winter driving tests.
