Finished in the especially attractive colour way of Anthracite Grey with Mushroom Leather interior, this outstanding 3 owner 300CE has clearly been cosseted as the condition is remarkable.
The car is free of corrosion and the paintwork is almost entirely as new, with only a couple of minor stone chips to report. I would speculate that this car has never had any remedial paintwork or replacement panels as the panel gaps are perfect and there is absolutely no evidence of any paintwork being done.
Unusually for a Coupe, both front and rear windscreens are original and not displaying the usual de-lamination - more clear evidence that this car has always been garaged and kept out of weather. The rear side windows, which are normally scratched and horrible, are almost perfect, as is the anodised window trim.
All 5x 15 hole alloys have been freshly refurbished and shod in Goodyear tyres. A new bonnet star and rear Mercedes star have also been fitted, just so they shine as they should!
The interior is among the nicest of any W124 I have owned. I have has the leather professionally cleaned and treated. It goes to show the quality of the materials used in these cars, as it genuinely looks new. The lady who does this work for me is also extremely complimentary of the quality of the car. All of the carpets are perfect, with no holes or staining and genuine Mercedes overmats are fitted. The wood trim retains a deep shine and none of the interior displays typical UV damage associated with living outside! Both seatbelt butlers work as they should, as do the power windows and sunroof and for those familiar with these cars, the trim that typically splits and breaks around the seatbelt butlers are in perfect condition. Originally registered in Devon, the car lived that area for the first few years of its life, being maintained by the supplying dealer, before being sold by Lancaster Europa Mercedes in Sheffield in 1999 to its second owner. This man kept the car locally until 2019 and continued to maintain the car pretty much exclusively with Mercedes in Sheffield before selling it through a local specialist dealer to the man I bought the car from. It retains its Lancaster Europa number plates, window sticker and tax disc holder and has an excellent record of maintenance. Prior to sale, the car has recieved a full service, two new front shock absorbers, 4x refurbished road springs and other small detail work in order to present the car to the excellent standard it now is.
The car starts perfectly from hot and cold and idles well. It drives extremely smoothly and has a good turn of pace if required. It drives as you would expect a low mileage, cherished W124 would. Everything fitted to the car works as it should and there are no known faults. It has MOT with no advisories until March 2024 and will stand any trial or inspection.
