The car was recommissioned last year after some time off the road, for this the car had a full top end rebuild, new water pump, timing belt, full service, 4 brand new Goodyear tyres, I have replaced the front driveshafts, fitted new fuel lines and balanced the wheels.
The GTX was a high spec sporting oriented 205, a replacement for the XS/ GT but with a fuel injected 1. 4 TU rather than carbs, it was only available for one model year making this a very rare 205 variant. Everything works including front electric windows, central locking and even the digital clock. The interior is in fantastic condition and the body is completely rust free.
The car handles brilliantly and is very nippy, it has no problems overtaking on the motorway even in top gear and is very planted for a small car from the 80s.
There’s only two minor issues with the car, it needs a new plug for the offside front side light and could benefit from some paintwork on the bonnet due to a small patch of lacquer peel and some scratching. The rest of the body is ok, has the usual parking dings/ marks/ scratches. I will be refitting the original Clarion stereo before sale.
