1962 Mk1 Austin Mini 1293 Turbo
For sale is my Cooper S replica, 1293 turbo powered mini. The necessity to buy a house is forcing me to sell.
It is very beige, with a black roof. The shell is solid with no rot, and is equally as beige underneath as it is on top. It has a 2 piece fibreglass front. The interior is very spartan, with a welded in 6 point cage and 2 fibreglass bucket seats with harnesses, no heater or stereo, you wouldn't hear it anyway. Please note, it is not a show car and has been used, and has built up a patina. It has also been reshelled at some point before my ownership.
It is a very quick car, has been built for 200ish bhp and it will bite you if your not careful. Full spec is as follows

The cylinder head is from a Mpi, has been ported and has 36. 5mm inlet valves and 30mm exhaust valves with bronze guides, and 1. 5:1 roller tipped rockers
The gearbox is standard ratio with a straight cut gearset and drop gears, Quaife ATB lsd, 3. 1 final drive and has a central oil pickup. Drop gears are 1:1 with roller bearing idler.

In my time owning this thing, I have fitted the brakes, wheels, shifter, had wiring sorted, had the geometry and corner weighting done as it was too low and the exhaust was catching a bit, and the power delivery was extremely violent with the setup it had. It is now sitting slightly higher, and has been set up so the torque steer isn't as bad. I have boxes of parts and spares that have either been replaced or havent been fitted yet.
I have used timken wheel bearings, ran it on valvoline VR1 20w50 and used 99 octane fuel. It has done about 400 miles since last being serviced when it got the brakes, front bearings and new ball joints fitted along with new driveshaft boots.
To summarise, it is loud and fast, and turns heads old and young, you can cruise about in it happily or surprise newer cars at the lights. I have loads of reciepts for parts I have bought for it, and the certificate for the diff. It is also MOT and tax exempt.
