I purchased in early 2020 thinking the shell was solid…. several thousands pounds and a full body restoration later….!
I have tonnes of photos and hundreds of receipts of the car during this process which includes heaps of new parts (including lots of genuine new/ used VAG). It’s had new floors, wings, bonnet, lots of cuts here and there to remove rust (filler neck area for example). Obviously a full repaint was done as part of this, again I have photos showing this. All welding, cutting, paint etc carried out by a body shop, I just did the strip and refit.
She is now solid and makes a perfect daily or car show entrant. I made the decision when the restoration was being done that I wouldn’t touch the engine or bay, I wanted a car that I wouldn’t be too precious about driving and then having to spend days cleaning the engine each time I took her out! Engine is strong and pulls lovely. Only mod is Pipercross induction kit (I still have the original air box).
Reason for sale - I’ve tried to use as much as possible since the works were carried out but as you’ll see from the miles done between MOTs I’ve simply not had the time to make the most of her, only did around 800 miles last year. Dry stored since I purchased. Now looking for a T5 camper.

Mint interior, no rips or worn bolsters!

Original blaupunkt radio (new alpine speakers all round) also has the Fischer cassette holder
Working MFA and display (no broken pixels!)
1 original key (but a couple of spares included)
Only fault - sunroof got jammed open by about 2 inches last summer and I had to force shut. I’ve not tried to open it since as I’ve had no time to investigate. It got a small scratch during shutting it so I sourced and have had painted a spare sunroof panel which can be swapped out when you fix.
If fair sale price is agreed I’ll also include a set of Street Stance coilovers (I bought second hand but never fitted them).
