1968 +4 2 seater, Moss gearbox, all matching numbers. One of the last TR engined +4’s made and with the desirable lowline body.
This remarkable and uniquely low mileage (35, 000) Morgan, is simply outstanding and probably the best of its kind.
Factory fitted with disc brakes and wire wheels, plus optional heater, 4 spoke Bluemel s/ wheel and walnut dash.
Purchased by the last owner in 1975 at 31, 872 (documented) miles,
who then carried out a ground up restoration to painstakingly original spec. Utilising new factory parts (including galvanised chassis) where necessary (receipts available), but retaining the original patina of certain elements of the interior. Permissible upgrades were incorporated, e. g. Koni telescopic shocks, scuttle roll hoop and seat belts.
A comprehensive history file inc. Morgan factory invoices for parts, old MOT’s and bills are included and support the claimed mileage. As a long time enthusiast and racer of Morgans I have considerable experience of the Marque.
The even weight distribution of the original +4, thanks to the Moss gearbox mounted on the end of a torque tube in the middle of the car, makes for lovely balanced handling. The TR4a high port motor is gloriously torquey and ideal for nice flexible driving in any gear.
There is also the added kudos of driving a proper 55 year old classic car, but still enjoying the performance of something modern.
Having owned and driven this Morgan for 18 months, I would describe it as 10/ 10 near perfect and one of the best examples I’ve ever encountered.
