Just in … 1 owner in 55 years … yes one owner Triumph Vitesse Convertible 2 Litre MK1, first registered in April 1968 . Finished in Stunning Conifer Green with Tan interior it’s a fully matching numbers factory overdrive car . Bought new in Worthing in 1968 it’s sole owner used the car for the first three years fastidiously garaging it nightly after which it became a second car for the past 52 years and only bought out of the garage on sunny days . The Remarkable condition of the car which is virtually untouched apart from regular garage mechanical servicing / repairs is testament to the owners love and care and has only become available due to age / illness . If you seek a virtually original example it’s a must see , cars like this rarely come up especially in this untouched amazing condition . Car was under sealed from new which has played a big role in its condition today . Please call in the first instance if you’re interested (9am to 8 pm please )
Bodywork ::is simply stunning , the paintwork is remarkable and original . It did have some remedial work to the lower part of drivers door ( you would never spot it ) sone years ago , lovely deep even shine shows much care of this car , of course 55 years of use shows a couple of minute chips imperfections but believe us it’s absolutely amazing … We will do our usual walk round video for serious interest soon ….
Interior :: fabulous cockpit … the dashboard lacquer is unbelievably near perfect , radio cage is now out , it’s had an ammeter fitted which works perfectly as do all switchgear and gauges … has a later aftermarket choke cable / knob which wants changing for a OG one ideally …seats are in perfect shape , the carpets were replaced and are lovely , floors are all intact under carpets with factory paint intact , under the rear seat the sound dreading padding is still in place in as new condition and similarly the sound deadening padding in its same black pvc covering is intact in the hood well .
Engine bay :: Housing the original engine which starts on the button and is beautifully quiet , it’s stock I un modified , the bulkhead is remarkable with a factory paint finish in great shape …..
Underside :: still bears most of its original under seal , chassis outriggers are all great with just light surface corrosion ( remember it’s original not a restored painted trailer queen )
Boot Area :: great tidy area has its original mat with sound deadening under , wheel well and floor all perfect , spare wheel in great shape with factory circular stiff cover as good as you’ll get … fuel tank is in great original shape , has factory red tool pouch , also has a factory unused aftermarket emergency windscreen windscreen for those times when screens were not laminated now a nice period accessory ,
Wheels / tyres :: Factory steel wheels with stock hub caps / embellishers , decent tyres all round ::
Hood / weather gear :: in very good shape and fits very well , it’s got a Hood well tonneau cover plus a full cockpit tonneau cover
Summary :: It’s Virtually total originality dictates that it’s not a totally immaculate car as a just restored car would appear but it is a stunning remarkable time warp car that has been so lovingly cared for by its sole owner who in his own words never expected to part with it . He never kept paperwork for it sadly ( my heart sank !) but is presently trying to get records from the garage that has cared for it for over 35 years and I will update on this but this car is what it is regardless , a true one owner stunning example … Paintwork is amazing with super straight bodywork and great gapping … There really can’t be many if any in as good untouched condition , they really are only original once and it will need a new keeper who is mindful and respectful of that … please CALL us to find out more in the first instance …. 9am to 8 pm any day
NB … I’m not sure why car and classic offer the advert now with a “make offer “ now but we won’t be even looking at or accepting any offers through this system .
