Description
2019 Norton Commando 961 Street (#40 of 50) is a delivery mileage example of the limited-edition motorcycle, which was created as a collaboration between motorcycling legend Henry Cole and Guy Wilson of The Motorbike Show fame.
It is powered by a fuel injected 961cc air-cooled four-stroke parallel-twin engine producing around 80hp, which sends power to the road via a five-speed transmission.
Based on a Norton Commando 961 Sport MkII, Cole’s Street specification was conceived by himself and Wilson, and honed by specialist fabricators. The story of the bike’s development was documented in The Motorbike Show’s seventh series.
Only 50 examples of the Norton Commando 961 Street were ever built.
This bike is an as-new example with 16 delivery miles from new.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
Built to emulate the appearance of a 1970s ‘muscle bike’, the 961 Commando Street features a revised tank, bars, and seat, as well as a host of uprated Norton factory options.
Each example was fitted with uprated Öhlins dampers, 2x 320mm Brembo brakes with four piston calipers at the front and 220mm at the rear, and painted black steel wheels.
This example is painted in deep glossy black hue with silver and gold accents, along with Norton logos on the fuel tank and engine housing. The bike is completed by a luxurious quilted Alcantara seat pad which is accented by white diamond stitching.
It is supplied with all of its original handbooks and paperwork, and also comes with various exhaust options which include the standard exhaust pipes and a Norton megaphone exhaust.
CONDITION
There is no known damage to the frame, fuel tank or other bodywork.
As is to be expected given the bike’s incredibly low mileage, the black paintwork is in excellent condition and has a deep and glossy appearance, with no visible chips or scratches.
The brightwork and exterior trim items are in excellent order , and the whole bike is in as-new condition.
New battery fitted April 23.
There are no known mechanical or electrical faults with the motorcycle.
