Description

Here is a totally unique racing 250cc Norton, built in the 60's by Ken Taylor from Rhyll.
This bike is very interesting because it has an outside flywheel with twin cam and twin plug head. Originally it was fitted with cut down Norton Roadholder front forks but now sports Reynolds Earles type forks designed and built by Ken Sprayson. The bike was built with the help of Joe Potts, who built Bob MacIntyres bikes and was a friend of Ken Taylor who successfully raced a Velocette MOV in the 1950’s and had a motorcycle dealership in Rhyl North Wales.

The frame design is very similar to the Potts developed "Razorblade" single down tube frame as campaigned by Bob Mac. The machine is very similar to that raced by Frank Cope in South Africa after his UK age ban. This is a fabulous example of late 50's early 60's race technology.

The bike is an excellent runner but has not been campaigned as such.

This very bike was featured in John Griffith's book The Quest For Speed back in the early 60's/

Engine sounds really fantastic.

I am advertising this bike for a friend, please contact me for details.
