Description
Say hello to Maurice!
Just about the most smiles per £ you’ll find on 4 wheels!
Fitted Fiat 1800 c. c. twin cam engine giving circa 120 bhp, mated to 5 speed gearbox makes for a lively drive.
Front suspension has coil over shocks to assist torsion bars, rear axle location beefed up with anti tramp bars . Shocks adjustable front and rear.
Power assisted brakes with discs fitted to front.
Whole car slightly lowered and fitted Marina/ Ital wheels gives purposeful stance and outstanding stability and road holding.
All round GRP wings, slightly flared at front and similarly wider at back add, discreetly , to the cars promise of a ‘fun’ drive.
Having been humiliated by a similarly modified Minor in my 964RS at Mallory Park a few years ago I just had to have one and found this a few years later. I’ve owned the car for 8 fun years.
Whist not particularly fast in a straight line (circa 100 mph), it is fabulous on the twisty bits and just makes you smile it is such a joy.
Rover 600 front seats keep you in place and the dash, whilst fitted with tachometer, vacuum gauge , electric cooling fan switch and temperature gauge keeps you well informed whilst retaining the ‘Deco’ look of these early cars.
The body is in excellent condition both on top and underneath, looking very smart but not so much that you won’t want to use it.
Oh yes, and the heater works too!Brilliant for lighthearted track days or just a blast down the road, Maurice puts the fun back into driving about as cheaply as you’ll find.
