Description
My Super Minx Convertible, was registered on 1st November 1963. The information I have from DVLA is that the original buff Log Book was probably destroyed during computerisation. As such, the earliest information on previous owners they have, dates from July 1977, with an owner living in Leyton, London, E10, moving to Barking in September 1977 and continuing to own the car until August 1997 when he died. It's possible that the Company of Veteran Motorists badge on the radiator, showing a 60, possibly relates to this earliest owner! After that, there are a long succession of owners; most of whom don’t seem to keep the car for very long.
At some point the car has been resprayed to a much brighter shade than original. I have owned the Hillman since 2016, during which time it has been retrimmed and recently was fitted with new brake shoes and wheel cylinders. The previous owner fitted new sills and copper brake pipes.
Underneath is clean and tidy and it's a really presentable car, always getting lots of great comments whenever it's out and about. It's 60 years old this year and is wearing it's age well, but it's not concours. It's a great car and really worth coming to take a look!
