An absolutely immaculate example.
I have had this motorcycle for about 18 months. I have a collection of old BMWs that I am having to thin out a little. I am keeping the very oldest, so this machine has to go. I also have a 1958 BMW R26 advertised on eBay.
This motorcycle was registered new on the 13th August 1976. I'm the third keeper this classic BMW. The R75/ 6 has the reputation of being the last BMW model manufactured prior to the company introducing certain cost saving measures to vote the supply chain and the manufacturing process as such it represents a machine of traditionally high BMW quality.
This is the last year of the / 6 line and has the deep sump and 5 speed gearbox fitted the motorcycle has matching frame and engine numbers the motorcycle has been registered as a historic classic vehicle and has completed 40261 documented miles. It also benefits from the spoked wheels and front disc brake.
I have an extensive file of owners records servicing and MOT's. These are too numerous to itemise on this advertisement: all details and documentation are available for inspection. The originality of this bike is summarised as follows;
• Original engine gearbox and drivetrain. Original wheel hubs and Weinman alloy wheel rims. The wheels were rebuilt by Central Wheel Components Ltd using stainless steel spokes, new tapes, tubes, tyres and wheel bearings that were fitted to both front and rear wheels.
• Original paint work on fuel tank, mudguards, frame, and swing arm
• Original Bing carburettors, mirrors, steering damper and handlebars
• Original factory toolkit complete and in a tool roll
• Original owners manual
• Two original keys
• The fuel tank is 100% corrosion free
significant renewal and overhaul and some upgrading works have been undertaken by specialist suppliers and noted airhead mechanics. Flat Twins Limited and Boxer Motorcycle Workshop.
These works have all been carried out in a sympathetic manner to maintain the originality of the model whilst enhancing ride ability and reliability. As prepared, this is a usable classic motorcycle which easily keeps pace with modern road traffic. With the new seat and suspension units fitted this motorcycle demonstrates a taught yet extremely comfortable ride.
• I have had the bike thoroughly serviced last summer and in the last month with a new battery just fitted, and well as all renewables
• The motorcycle is garaged under a dust cover and on a smart charger
A summary of the aforementioned works undertaken is as follows
• Seibenrock replacement seat unit fitted using the original brackets
• Boyer Bransden electronic ignition fitted the original coils are included in the sale. It starts beautifully
• Serviced summer 21 and summer 22 and summer 23 with new spark plugs fitted engine oil renewed and oil filter changed Final drive, universal joint, and gearbox oil renewed
• New Bosch high tension leads battery cradle and securing strap, new battery, new throstle, clutch and brake cables all fitted
• Front brake master cylinder and calliper both rebuilt with new seals etc new brake pads, brake calliper fluid pipe and stainless steel braided front brake hose fitted
• New Bosch horn, headlamp weather seal and flasher unit all fitted
• New Keihan stainless steel exhaust headers and OEM Chrome plated link pipe all fitted
• New IKON suspension front and rear forks rebuilt using progressive springs new bump stops and seals fitted, adjustable rear spring and shock absorber units- including aluminium trouts- all fitted
• Bing carburettors ultrasonically cleaned, new diaphragms and jets fitted, carburettors balanced for idle speed
• New fuel lines and breather pipes fitted, fuel taps removed cleaned and refitted
• New inflation hand pump
• New stainless steel pushrod tubes and new seals fitted
• New painted side panels in original avis black BMW colour with new original old stocks 750CC Dec ALS applied
• New spare parts speedometer cable stand return spring air filter various gas pits spray paint included
• Airhead specific tools included in sale
• Claymer and Haynes workshop manuals included in sale
