The R107 which arrived in 1971 was the fourth reincarnation of the famous SL line. The Mercedes Benz R107 was an all-new design and became the company’s second most long-lived model, after the G-Wagen. Until it stopped production in 1989 it went on to sell over 300, 000 units over its 18 year production life.
This particular model is the 1986 300SL facelift model, arguably the most sought after version due to its excellent balance between performance and economy, with notable changes from pre-face lift models being of course the three litre straight six and some subtle enhancing cosmetic updates.
Current owner for the last 11 years with just over 2400 miles covered during that period, only ever used in the summer and in dry conditions.
Matching hardtop stored and never used by current owner.

Supplied new in 1986 by North Riding Garages Ltd in Pickering, North Yorkshire and was bought by the current owner in 2013 from Classic and Sportscar Centre in Malton, Yorkshire.
10 former keepers mainly in its early life with the previous keeper being a film company. 3 minor cosmetic modifications, which can be very easily and quickly returned to original form, as the original parts have been kept and carefully stored, and are included, these are the quad headlight conversion, the unit was sourced from a 1976 US spec SL, Part burl wood / leather steering wheel and burl wood gear selector purchased from Gold Classics in Holland.

In all round excellent condition, meticulously maintained by its current owner, enjoyed and loved, mechanically excellent with no advisories for the last 6 years, any suggested jobs were always completed immediately. In a little over two years it will be MOT and road tax exempt.
Nicely contrasting Dark brown soft top is in excellent condition with only a small part of the driver side rubber window seal on the soft top requiring a little attention.
After 11 years of enjoyment and with a new planned project requiring space it makes for a very reluctant sale indeed. A new MOT if desired can be done prior to delivery.
