It was on September 23, 1982 that the BX was released!
Despite being the first Citroen model of the PSA era, the brand maintained the front-wheel drive, the hydropneumatic suspension and the four disc brakes with a high-pressure circuit, characteristics of other reference models of the “Double Chevron”.
At the time of launch, only the saloon with 1400cc and 1600cc engines was available. Over the years, the “break” and “Enterprise” bodies emerged, engines with power up to 160 hp and the famous BX4TC appears in 1986 with the purpose of representing the brand in the World Rally Championship.
The BX 19GTi has a PSA 1900 cc engine with 125 hp reached at 5500 rpm, has a maximum torque of 170 Nm at 4500 rpm reaches 198 km/ h and does 8. 9s from 0-100 km/ h. This engine also equipped the Peugeot 405 SRi.
