Reduced! Cosseted by a Japanese owner until I bought it direct from the importer in 2016. Superbly well preserved inside and out, no expense spared on maintenance, many invoices. XJ40 specialist David Marks Garages rustproofed the body (which is totally corrosion free) and fitted discreet upgrades including Bilstein dampers, upgraded steering rack etc. One of the best-driving XJ40s you will find, while retaining its supple ride. Comes with original lambswool carpets (never unpacked), tool set, factory handbook and literature, Japanese and UK service history, even the first-aid pack and umbrella sleeve! Paintwork largely original but understandably showing signs of its age. Often featured in Jaguar Enthusiast magazine. Price reduced!The back-story to this car is that I bought it after attending the XJ40's 30th anniversary in 2016. This was held at the original press launch venue in Scotland used by Jaguar back in 1986 - which I attended as a journalist. I looked for a really well preserved XJ40 and found this one. I never really liked the XJ40's standard suspension and the Bilstein dampers I had fitted make it a much easier and safer car to drive.
