Description
Fresh japanese import Toyopet Toyota Corona Mark II GSL project
Imported by club japan imports
Arrived in the UK in April 2021
Very rare car- this is the 1st one of this year that I’ve seen but I know there are a couple more of this style in the UK
I’m the 1st UK owner
37, 500 genuine miles
Rwd
At the current time the carbs have been removed, when she landed in the UK she was running beautifully but in the last month she developed an issue where the revs would bounce and she would stall when driven- suspected that the carbs have worn parts diagnosed by 70’s car Resto (can provide video of the issue) She was running before carbs removed even with the issue- engine turns freely
Carbs are currently off the car- would make a very good donor for some twin SU carbs as rebuild kits are not available for the Aisan type
18R engine- Twin carburettor (I believe it was 115hp from factory)
Very very rare twin Aisan iso SU carbs - didn’t typically come on this model and probably rarer than the car itself
Had a custom air filter fitted
Manual choke
Boot works on lever or key
New battery installed
Very cheap classic insurance
MOT & Tax exempt
Rear sills welded on arrival and undersealed by Club Japan imports
Solid underneath
Chrome trims and bumpers
2L 5 speed manual - GSL model
Full deep interior valet upon arrival
Parking pole
Fog lights
New rear tyre
Had multiple cigarette lighters (12V sockets installed) wiring could be tided up but typical Japanese dash wiring
fully serviced (plugs, leads etc from the motorist December 2021)
Absolutely gorgeous interior with its quirky features like the brake ok monitor
When the lights are on the car is absolutely beautiful
There is limited paper work - only have auction sheet and import details and UK paperwork
Body work issues but expected due to age- can provide images and details, would look gorgeous resprayed in 70’s teal or the original brown
The Antenna doesn’t retract
When she was serviced the guys stated the clutch was on its limits
seals around the car could be replaced
I can provide further pics of the car, maintenance, her running or anymore info if requiredMy favourite thing has to be the brake ok monitor, extremely unique and fully functional
Gorgeous and rare classic with the rarity of a 5 speed gearbox
