I bought this car in 2022 from the widow of an elderly gentleman who passed last year. I was told the vehicle was his pride and joy & well maintained until he became ill and was unable to use it.
If you are looking at this, you probably know what a fantastic premium SUV the X5 is, but not without their faults. If in doubt please check in with an online buyers guide, to see the pitfalls & see what I’ve addressed on this particular vehicle to give you some peace of mind.
Since purchasing I have completed the following work, some, completed with invoices by a local BMW specialist and the rest by myself where appropriate.
Gearbox flush & service with premium oil and filter.(purely preventative, no fault)
Full suspension refresh with new anti roll bar mounts and suspension arm bushes.
Inspection 1 oil and filter change with premium oil.
New iridium spark plugs.
New air and cabin filter
New battery.
4 recent tyres.
Full coolant system refresh. New metal impeller water pump, new hoses, new thermostat. New fan clutch.
Prior to my purchase the vehicle had new rear suspension airbags,
Common faults remedied:
Remote locking with new key cut and coded.
Drivers door lock replaced.
Boot lock fix.
Known faults.
Rear PDC fails intermittently(parts ordered)
Slight pixelation on dashboard (still readable)
Slight fading on head unit display.
If I were keeping this vehicle, the next jobs would be re finish the alloy wheels & upgrade the head unit to something more modern.
Since owning this car, I’ve completed 6000 trouble free miles. The car drives faultlessly, with no squeaks or rattles.
I believe it to be a modern classic.
Private plate not included in sale.
A change in circumstances has forced this regrettable sale & I don’t expect to get back what I’ve put into it. However, I believe it to be a sound, honest car, with plenty of life left in it for the next owner.
