1977 MG Midget in excellent and useable condition. No problems at all. Will start every time and runs, steers and stops well. The engine pulls well in all gears and the gearbox and clutch are excellent.
All the electrics and gauges work correctly.
There are no rust issues. The paintwork is mostly gleaming and undamaged, To be really critical the paint at the bottom of the doors has not been matched well. The interior is excellent and undamaged. There is a fixed roll bar. The soft top is in good order although as the car lives in a garage, the roof is kept down.
Recent £660 service bill with oil and filters changed. Included was a complete carb refurbishment with all new gaskets, seals and needles.
The engine bay is clean and tidy and there are no fluid leaks. There is an electric fan fitted to help cooling.
This car is better than most available at this price. It is not concourse but could be taken to the next level with very little effort.
It passed a new 12 month mot a few days ago although it is actually exempt now. There were a couple of small advisories but nothing major.
Road tax is free and insurance is £100 per year. This is a really cheap and cheerful way of running a classic car.
Included is a workshop manual, tonneau cover, and cover for the roof when down.
The ONLY reason for sale is that I have a pristine 1962 Healey Sprite as well and that is in my garage at home. The Midget is garaged elsewhere and therefore never gets used. I am interested in bikes and may take a motorcycle as a part exchange.
