This car has been built by some of the UK's most well-respected VW restorers. The list of companies involved in this build reads like a who's who of UK specialists. The accident-free donor car 1976 1303's (the best model for German look) was originally sourced by Luke Theocari (Terry's Beetle Services) where it underwent all structural rust repairs, heater channels rear quarter panels, front and rear aprons etc, etc and paint. They took care of creating widened fibreglass (Day Mouldings) fenders all round, custom front spoiler, front and rear aprons and a full paint job in (BMW Carbon Black) paint needs attention in some areas (VW Specialists Type Two detectives) took care of the fitment of Porsche 944 S2 Aluminium Rear trailing arms, hubs, vented disk's, Porsche master cylinder. Four pot Porsche/ Brembo Calipers to all four corners give amazing breaking capabilities aided by EBC Green Pads with adjustable front to rear brake biasing. Polished Porsche rear aluminium trailing arms widen the car and allow Fitment of 18” Porsche Carrera Classic wheels wrapped in 245' 40 18's (fronts) and 285 40 18's (rears) Pirelli P'Zero's to take care of traction. Roll cage fabrication, gearbox mounting, custom front suspension fabrication and strut brace where hand crafted by Jim Smith ( Cotsweld VW race fabrication) The roll cage chassis fabrication now support the highly sort after, Porsche G50 5 speed Gearbox. The gearbox and engine combination is a sheer joy off the line and particularly effortless on the motorway where it cruises seamless lessly (the gearbox has had a Quaife torque biasing Limited Slip Differential installed at ( Prodrive ) The Gearbox fitment required extensive body and chassis modifications so the torsion bar has been deleted and the car is now fitted with a custom and fully adjustable rear uniball set up, (crafted from aircraft grade Aluminium) Three way fully adjustable Coil overs on all 4 corners take care of damping and additional fabrication up front improve handling. A Kennedy Engineering (USA) adapter plate, ensures accurate mating of the Subaru engine to the Porsche g50. Porsche 5 speed gear shifter, Porsche clutch, master and slave cylinders enable factory perfect gear changes.
Engine: An EJ207 semi closed deck block provides the basis for the forged 2 litre turbo Subaru WRX engine built by (Andrew Williams, Williams Motorsport) fitted at ( DC Customs/ VW classic car builders ) with all supporting mods, Engine : > Forged Rods, Larger vf38 Turbo, Larger Pink Injectors, ARP head bolts, Steel head gaskets, Cross Drilled Crank, Larger Stainless Steel Up Pipe, Stainless exhaust, uprated Bosch 044 fuel pump and filter. This provides aprox 300-320bhp with plenty of scope for more power should you desire. Interior includes a pair of rare and fully adjustable high bolstered Recaro seats taken from a 944 S2 turbo. These provide both comfort and performance. Part leather door cards, roof-lining and floor carpet was trimmed by (Bernard Newbury VW Interiors) The car features the world's only Carbon fibre dashboard built (Carbon Weezle) A full set of AutoMeter Pro comp gauges take care of engine monitoring. This car comes with a complete detailed history of its restoration with a box full of receipts and a full library of photographs. This is an incredible example of what must be the world's most iconic classic car. This Beetle is totally unique and the only one in the world built to this specification (try finding another one! you won’t be able too, try finding someone to build one!!!! If you can allow at least 3/ 5 years and hundreds of hours of research and over £100k) A true one-off car. This head turner gets thumbs up’s, huge smiles and constant admiration from other road users and pedestrians alike most people just say I love it.
Driving this car is a real experience making you feel cool but not pretentious. You can cruise to the shops but obviously this is a very capable car and incredibly fast It corners incredibly well and once on the motorway and at higher speeds it feels planted and cruises as if it's on rails.
