Volkswagen T1 Kombi Split Screen 1973 (Samba)
This is one of the most desirable VW Split Screen campers, this example had addition of the 23 window wrap around during its restoration, making it a Samba. These have been seen to sell for well over €100, 000 internationally. The car has 34600km on the clock however this has not been officially verified. The engine has less than 4000kms on it.
The vehicle is extremely presentable and useable due to its many upgrades. However, it must be noted that there is some rust around windows and doors surfacing in the last year which is reflected in the price. This stunning camper benefitted from a full restoration in 2018 in São Paulo, Brazil. Following this restoration it has had a huge amount of upgrades completed in the last few years to a value over €22, 000
These upgrades include:
- A powerful 1776cc Long Block engine capable of 90bhp
- Numerous suspension upgrades
- Rear axel conversion using Creative Engineering IRS kit with new disc braking.
- Automatic pertronix ignition
- Beautiful 2 tone upholstery,
- Surfboard custom removable table
- Fold out seat/ bed & roof rack with side ladder.
- Roof and stanchion insulation lining
The list of upgrades and work is endless but has all been carefully documented. For anyone seriously interested there is a 58 page document with photos of all work completed including restoration and upgrades. It comes with a huge box of spares and a big history file.
The camper comes with both an indoor and outdoor cover so there is no need to worry about indoor storage this summer!
Being from Brazil it is LHD but from personal experience the driving position makes it surprisingly easy to drive on Irish roads.
