Description
Built Dec 1979 and first owned by Lancaster Cars, the Norwich Porsche dealer, from March 1980, this Series 1 924 turbo is in the rare MY80 brochure colours of Alpine White over Guards Red. Showing 151, 490 miles. Serviced and maintained every year in my ownership regardless of miles or cost. Many new and upgraded parts over the 14 years ownership.
I purchased this car in 2009. Repainted to the original colours in 2013 along with a fully rebuilt engine with Omega forged pistons, Cometic MLS HG, ARP head studs, upgraded K26/ 27 hybrid turbo now running 1. 1 bar boost, 944 front mounted intercooler in genuine 944 turbo front panels, custom made intake set up, adjustable ignition, refreshed uprated fuel system from tank to injectors delivering 30% more fuel, Piper cam, vernier pulley, custom stainless tapered exhaust system, last dyno showed 100 more horses than its standard 170bhp from factory. This is in the 924 GTS Clubsport area.
Further modifications for sprint/ hillclimb use includes genuine 7'' and 8'' Fuchs with R tyres, Gas Gold coilovers, Quaife LSD equipped 5 speed dog leg gearbox, refreshed and well maintained brake system, Safety Devices bolt in roll cage with correctly welded in spreader plates, Recaros, Schroth harnesses.
In addition it has a number of rare finishing touches such as the period and super hard to find new old stock FOHA front lip spoiler, rare genuine Porsche bolt on badge panel, Porsche script door handles, 924 GTS/ 944 Turbo Cup manual adjustable mirrors.
Engine safety with Mittelmotor adjustable ignition in stock distributor, Zeitronic boost/ AFR/ intake temp gauge, Phormula knock sensor. Very large receipt files going back to early 90's.
