Although I am a luxury car dealer I fancied owning a pre-millennium modern classic for a while, to go to some car meets in and was looking for some time for something different. I found locally this incredibly gorgeous Dark Olive Pearl Volvo V70 R AWD which had been owned by the same family from new (original owner passed to his son-in law - both at same address) and I purchased it in March 2023 (now showing three registered keepers including me). It was supplied new on the 9th November 1999 by Avonvale Volvo, it still has the original plates - our registration 2 NLC has been removed and I have re-fitted the original ones. I have enjoyed every minute of the 7 months I have owned it and have had so many compliments, being a UK supplied R with such low mileage it is an absolute unicorn. Garaged its whole life and presented complete with both keys and remotes as well as original dealer key ring, original roof bars, original sales invoice from when new, Volvo umbrella, all books and manuals, huge history file, stamped service book and original brochure. Everything is working, the original stereo (I have some tapes in it although it has a CD multi-player too), electric sun roof, electric seats etc and it is lovely to drive, very quick in fact and of course four wheel drive. The V70 was manufactured from 1996 to 2016 across 3 generations, the name V70 combines the letter V for versatility and 70 denoting the relative platform size, smaller than the V90 and larger than the V40. The first generation debuted in November 1996 and was available with front wheel drive and four wheel drive, which this is. The V70 R debuted in May 1997. Known for their tank-like build quality these older Volvo Estates are robust and solid and they have a great following. Interestingly, Volvo have just announced they will no longer build estates. Most examples of these V70's advertised are Japanese Imports, we don't think there is another very low mileage UK example anywhere, certainly not like this!
