The Silver Spur is a long-wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit. It was the first car to feature a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy: the spring-loaded mascot sinks into the radiator shell if dislodged from its position. The Spur comes with a 6. 75 L L410 V8 engine and GM-sourced THM400 3-speed automatic gearbox, and similarly styled unitary bodywork manufactured at Pressed Steel. It has the hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension, modified with Girling automatic hydraulic ride height control system. This car was supplied by HR Owen, London. This 1987 Rolls Royce Silver Spur is finished in metallic royal (Windsor) blue with thin coach lines and with magnolia leather seats, leather headlining, blue dash roll and navy blue over rugs and white wall tyres. The car has covered only 55000 miles with various service receipts and a stamped service book up to 2017. The current MOT runs until April 2024. It has the usual Rolls Royce refinements, air-con, central locking, rear picnic tables, radio stereo, electric windows and seats, it still has the original car phone. The car is in very clean condition throughout and the interior wood work still looks lovely to this day. Underneath is solid and clean with positive comments from the MOT garage on how good it is. It was purchased to work as a wedding car from an elderly gentleman who used it for the same purpose. There is some rear bounce, I'm guessing a sphere change will rectify this as it does not lose any hydraulic fluid. The car is priced to reflect this. It starts first time even with periods of non-use. A reluctant sale but we are closing the wedding business and we don't have sufficient storage space. We purchased this car to use as a wedding car and it always draws admiring glances wherever we have been. It can be used as same or by someone just looking for a 'cruisemobile'.
