We are pleased to be able to offer what we to believe to be one of the finest examples and possibly THE BEST of the iconic Audi Cabriolet 2. 6 V6 Manual models. This model is firmly established as a cult classicIf your looking at this you will probably know your Audi's and also know these were reliable, practical and spacious which is why most have mega miles on them, not this one though, this car has only covered 18, 000 careful miles from new!
The car has had only three owners from new, (two in the same family!). The first was Mrs J Rigg whose Husband owned Rigby Turner Volkswagen in Haycock along with the Audi dealership at the time. When Mr Rigg was forced to separate the VW/ Audi franchise he sold out to Smith Knight Fay where this cars first service was carried out. Mrs J Rigg pampered the car and could not part with it so it lived in a heated garage and rarely saw rain . The car was used sparingly throughout her ownership as she was expected to drive a Volkswagen so it was only used for trips to the local golf club and summer holidays in the UK. There are four stamped entries in the service book we have an email from her son-in-law which states the car was serviced annually at their VW Dealership but not recorded. Looking around the car I would assume this is correct.
Mrs J Rigg sadly passed away in 2018 and the car started its new life with her son-in-law who due to lack of garage space and knowing the car had always been garaged, decided to sell the car to Audi enthusiast, Mr S Whiffen. Mr Whiffen bought the car to use at his holiday property, he chose the car because, (in his own words), 'it is as proper as I would think could ever exist'.
Whilst the car was amazing it didn't stop him improving the vehicle. In October 2020 the car was sent for a major service and cambelt and whilst it was there it had new brakes all around and recommissioning resulting in an invoice for £2227. 33.
In May 2021 the decision was made to have the interior fully retrimmed by one of the top trimmers in the country, (D Class Automotive Ltd in Surrey), to match Mr Whiffen's brand new Audi RS6 and RS3 at a cost of £7944! The original seat material has been kept and comes with the car.
February 2022 saw the entertainment system upgraded to a classic Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB and Audison speakers giving modern features and crystal clear sound so the your phone can be connected while maintaining the period correct look. The original stereo equipment has also been kept. The new system cost £881.
Mr Whiffen was obsessive and wanted this car to be as good as it could be and painstakingly sourced many new parts from Germany at great cost which were no longer available in the UK. These included brand new wheels which are immaculate and are shod with new premium Pirelli tyres. In 2023 the car received expensive Paint Protection Film applied to protect the immaculate paintwork.
This car is truly a one-off with unrepeatable credentials of low miles, low owners and perfect specification. Try and find another!
