Description
ONLY 2 OWNERS FROM NEW. TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 4. 2 LITRE 6 CYLINDER TURBO-DIESEL AUTOMATIC 7 SEATER 4X4. We have known this original Landcruiser since the 2nd and last owner bought it in December 1998 when it was just 4 years old with 84, 000 miles for the princely sum of £20, 000. He loved this classic old 4x4 so much he kept it until he unfortunately passed away late last year. We bought it in December 2022 with the intention of keeping it for a small collection of classic 4x4 vehicles. This is a very original and unmolested almost 30 year old classic legendary old school luxury off-road vehicle that is famously regarded as possibly the toughest and most reliable of vehicles. Finished in glacial white with mid-grey leather interior and still sitting on it's original 16 inch alloy wheels with 4 matching 275-70-16 tyres. Probably best described as a well preserved and very loved classic with room to improve cosmetically with just some minor plastic trim to replace and repair. Still almost totally original with just an old Parrot hands-free phone system fitted and an after-market JVC CD-Radio stereo. These rugged old style classic SUV/ 4X4 VEHICLES from the late 80's and 90's must surely be the next best automotive investment potential. After the 80's hot hatch, fast Fords and obscure day to day cars that have escalated rather alarmingly in value over the last few years, these must be the next affordable step to being able to afford a classic vehicle that will return any investment over time.
Equipped with power assisted steering, ABS brakes, front and rear differential lock, centre differential lock, ECT driving pattern selection, air-conditioning, heated electric front seats, electric sun-roof, electric front and rear windows, electric door mirrors, head-light washers and central locking. THIS CAR WAS A CATEGORY 'C' INSURANCE LOSS IN JUNE 2015 AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAS A VOSA VIC PASS CARRIED OUT 01/ 09/ 2015. PART-EXCHANGE AVAILABLE. Not wishing to sound too abrupt and obstructive but I have had some idiotic requests about this vehicle. Can I just state that this is a 30 year old 250, 000 miles Japanese 4X4 of course it isn't showroom condition, there is inevitably corrosion and signs of use. Most 30 year old Japanese cars have disappeared in a puff of red dust by now. It is remarkable that this vehicle still exists and is usable. It has never been restored it has just been maintained and used as a daily driver by the same driver for 26 years. I do not do video walkarounds, I cannot take pictures of the underneath and NO it isn't pristine and I am sure it has corrosion underneath although the mot history doesn't show anything. No amount of pictures of remote or obscure parts or long phone calls will ever be as good as you coming and taking a look in person so that you can make your own judgment call. We are 10 minutes from junction 28 of the M5. And on another note it is collection only. We do not deliver or arrange export to Ireland or South Africa. And although I am sure it is strong enough I don't honestly think it would be perfect for towing a mini digger around the country. The price is firm at £9995. The vehicle drives very well for the age and mileage and we had an MOT done which is current until October 2024, with some minor advisory notices all in keeping with the age. The registration number is M684BCV. Please check the mot history. Only 2 owners from new and originally supplied by Pollitts Toyota Exeter. To a local company on the 3rd September 1994. Mr Bond then bought the car on the 12th December 1998 when it had 83, 940 miles from an Exeter 4x4 specialist for £20, 000. The car is supplied with 1 key, owners hand-book, service history with 19 service stamps up until 115, 958 miles in September 2002. The services were then carried out by a family member as Mr Bond started to travel less and then retired. The damage that resulted in an insurance loss was apparently a minor impact with Mr Bond garage wall which resulted in some damage to the front nearside corner and the bonnet which has been properly repaired with very little evidence of the repair. Alas I cannot confirm the exact damage as the current family members cannot remember and Mr Bond has passed away. There are some cosmetic issues that don't detract from the car but could be rectified. The drivers side roof gutter trim strip is missing, the passengers electric seat is not working although it is an adequate position for most people. The manual central locking is a bit temperamental it locks and un-locks. There are various pieces of plastic trim that are broken with the pictures showing most of them. The rear load area is all intact but the carpet is tired. There are signs of usage on the door cards and centre arm-rest, All 4 bumper corners have mild scuffing and the rear bumper looks a bit askew. There is some very minor corrosion just appearing on the wheel arch returns and at the bottom of the tailgate and I am sure in some unseen areas. Obviously there are some other marks and signs of use but overall this is very nice. We have replaced 3 auxiliary belts and recharged the battery. It start first time every time. All tyres are good and everything seems to work although the electric windows are slow but functioning and the electric aerial is not functioning. The wheel brace and jack are missing, although the spare wheel is with the car. Locking wheel nuts are not fitted. This is very usable with room to improve as and when. Please remember this is almost 30 years old. It is a miracle it has survived this long and it deserves to be around for many many more years.
