Early Sherpa in very nice shape . Dosn't look or feel like it's had a hard competitive life , it's all straight and mechanically very sound . Engine is smooth and mechanically quiet , forks are in good shape , no corrosion , pitting or leaks and have a nice action ( changed fork seals a few weeks ago ) , Hagon units on the rear which are OK .
There's a few nicks in the wheel rims and a few blemishes on the fibreglass tank & seat unit but the tank is fine , no leaks or ethanol erosion ( i only use AVGAS these days ) . The head light , brake light ( after market period items) and speedo all work well . No idea what the genuine mileage is but the bike has had an easy life i think . It has a nice Mikuni carburettor with the main jet access from the side with a 10mm spanner - which is very handy and works well . Chain and sprockets very good . Original exhaust system .
I've had it for about 15 years and did some local Classic trials on it for 2 or 3 years with the Golden Valley and Hawks Clubs but then went down the 4 stroke and pre -65 path . Since then i've just been using it to go to the pub - a few miles each way - just to keep it exercised .
In all , a very tidy , classic twin shock bike - ready to compete on , could do with new tyres .
