Hi,
We have here up for sale a lovely example of the iconic Nissan 300ZX Z32 in the desirable short wheelbase / 2 seater spec with only 88000 kilometers / 55000 miles on the clock and 1 owner from new.
Originally bought and owned by a British expat Nissan engineer living in Tokyo in 1990, the car returned back to the U. K. with him in 1991 and after only 8 years of U. K. motoring went into storage due to the owner's ill health. The Z remained stored up in his heated garage for the next 24 years, with next to no road use until I bought the car in July 2023.
On purchase, and before any use of the car / not even starting the engine, I began the long and expensive recommissioning process. I can provide more details as required but for the sake of keeping this advert concise and readable I’ll just list the main jobs carried out since my ownership:
- Fuel tank drain, fuel line pressure clean, new fuel pump.
- Injectors remove, pressure test / refurb refit (big job as manifolds have to come off)
- New timing belt kit including water pump/ pulleys and new aux belts
- Gearbox drop to check clutch (clutch in excellent condition), gear box oil change + new slave and master clutch cylinder replacements
- Replace original type 1 PTU with new type 2 PTU kit (from the USA)
- Coolant flush x 2 + new thermostat, replace plugs, oil change x 2 (using millers 5W40 synthetic).
- New discs and pads front and rear (grooved ventilated) + replacement z32 twin turbo callipers on the front.
- Wheel refurb + new Bridgestone Potenza runflats x 4
- Brand new exhaust system + custom built 3" decats from manifold to mid pipe
To improve the cars road stance, I made the following (and easily reversible) changes.
- Fit new coilovers front and rear with 30mm drop on rear and 25mm on front. I have kept the original suspension set and this will come with the car.
- Fit 25mm spacers on the rear and 20mm spacers on the front.
These mods improve the handling and ride and provide the car with a slightly more squat and aggressive road presence.
Following this comprehensive 5 month recommissioning the car starts on the button first time / every time, purrs smoothly and drives faultlessly. It sailed through it’s first MOT in 24 years with no advisories!
The cars condition is a testimony to its life spent tucked up in a garage.
- Interior: 100% original and about as clean as you can could hope for. The leather is next to perfect as is everything else. A few wear and tear signs in the boot compartment but that’s about it.
- Chassis: Exceptional for the age of the car. I’ve had it treated with an antirust wax oil to protect it but certainly no underseal. See pics. Happy to provide more photos if required. No oil leaks. Clean and dry.
- Engine bay: Same thing.
- Bodywork. Very good. Due to the car being in a garage used intermittently, it has incurred some very minor dings and the odd scuff. However, it is completely rust free and presents very well. In my opinion it’s much better to have the odd minor ding or scuff than rust bubbles and a rotten chassis.
Finally, the icing on the cake, the car comes with all the original jap car docs including the original car manuals, jap period price lists, jap export docs, 1990 original 300zx jap promotional brochures and of course the large file of receipts for all the work I’ve carried out. And 2 sets of original Nissan Z32 keys.
