1998 revision 4 MKII MR2 GT T-Bar. UK car registered 23rd February 1998. 5-speed manual. Purplish-blue. 3 owners from new, by myself since summer 2021. 169K miles, regularly serviced and looked after with an extensive history and refurbishments. 2x original keys. Central locking. Interior:
Full black leather. The only notable mark being a very small tear in the driver's seat right hand bolster. Black carpet. Bluetooth Sony radio. Storage compartment behind seat.

Exterior:
Pop-up headlights, uprated bulbs. Unmarked glass T-Tops. Professionally refurbished alloys in silver (summer 2021). Tyres: Toyo Proxes TR1 – great tread and grip. Clear indicators and side lights. Original rev 3+ Kouki rear lights. New sills, all old rust cut out here and repaired October 2021. Mongoose exhaust system - plenty of grumble, not too loud. A couple of bumps and scratches, less than expected for 26-year-old car. Surface rust on wheel arches.

Engine, transmission and drivetrain:
1998cc 168bhp na 3S-GE. Mid-engine. New spark plugs, oils and filters (September 2023). New clutch (July 2023). Refurbished gearbox (July 2023).

Storage:
Decent sized boot (2 large duffle bags and a few coats). ‘Frunk’ (good for a couple of rucksacks)

Accessories:
Original Toyota tool kit. Unmarked original Toyota T-Top bags and shades.

Notes:
Surprisingly spacious and useful as a daily driver, fits 6’1” driver very comfortably. Used for road trips with more than enough luggage space. Cheap to insure. Handles amazingly thanks to mid-engine weight distribution. Still pulls amazingly and reliably even with 169K miles on the clock thanks to regular servicing.

What would make this MR2 perfect?
Slight cosmetic overhaul - surface rust sorted on arches, bumps in body work sorted. New handbrake cable.

This is a reluctant sale of mine. This car handles and pulls away amazingly, is cheap to insure and is becoming increasingly rare; especially an unmolested, unmodified, clean, OEM example such as this one.

The colour and sound of this car are what sold me when I saw it for the first time, it is truly unique. Not to mention the incredibly rare pop-up headlights and T-top combination. This is a true dream car come to reality. It even gets attention next to Lotuses and Dodge Chargers at charity events.
