FORD F100 V8 1977 Short bed Sidestep Pickup Truck
Ford F100 5. 0 Litre 302ci Short bed, Automatic, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Ford 9” back axle. Lovely short bed V8 truck with solid rust free chassis and many new parts, petrol tank has been relocated to rear of chassis, Ford 9” back axle with completely rebuilt diff by Hauser Racing with new gear set, bearings etc.
The engine is very lively and I think with a bigger carb could really have some serious grunt. There is a disconnected Lamba sensor in the exhaust, so maybe it had a injection system on it before it left Florida.
It has a new power steering box and pump, new master brake cylinder and power brake kit, disc brakes to front, new engine mounts, new shocks all round, new poly front suspension bushes, all new window rubbers to front and back screens and even new quarter lights rubbers, new carpets, new dash top.
Wheels were stripped, blasted and clear coated, so like new, tyres are new. I am the first registered owner in the UK after it came in from Florida, it has a lovely rumble from the twin side exit exhausts. Hardwood pickup bed with all new steel for sidestep pickup. Custom alloy steering wheel, truck air horn, CD\Radio and 4 speaker stereo.
No rust in cab floor, all very solid, only bad bits on whole truck are, the gear selector indicator does not line up with Reverse, Drive etc. but makes no difference as you go through from P, R, N, Drive, there is a bit of bubbling to bottom corner of cab and lower edge of door, also roof and bonnet has lacquer peel, but its a truck and it all adds to the retro feel original look, it has patina and it rattles like a old truck should, do not come along thinking it will drive like a modern car, they never did, this is a 46 year old pickup truck !Everybody just seems to like the look of this truck, its gets comments all the time. The colour is metallic Honda green and really suits it along with the high stance and Western Cyclone wheels it just looks right, milk churn and steel trunks just to give it a look I like for a bit of fun.
