In my two years of ownership the 197 has had lots of work to rectify some Renault niggles, I may have missed some things off the description that I fixed but here goes:
Full clutch kit and slave cylinder, transmission oil, cambelt kit with water pump, serpentine belt & tensioner (recent) full service, front discs and pads, brake and clutch fluid, upper and lower engine mounts, air con compressor and air con condenser, strut top mounts, swivel arms, steering tie rods, anti rotation links, wiper linkage & wiper blades, exterior door handle micro switches replaced & handles repainted, full refurbishment of the alloy wheels, four new tires Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 6, full four wheel alignment with Pure Motorsport shims on the back axle to get it spot on, map sensor clamp, Renault sport mats, genuine Renault rear spoiler, petrol flap lock solenoid, interior mirror, dipstick, b pillar seals/ trim.
The car drives faultlessly with no gearbox issues or any knocks or bangs, it pulls cleanly through the gears and the handling is exceptional.
The interior is in good condition with just one small scuff on the drivers seat (not holed) the carpets are also hole free and in good condition beneath the mats.
The exterior is also in good condition but it does have a ripple on the N/ S/ R arch and some chips and scuffs on the front bumper, nothing serious and commensurate with its age and mileage
Under the car is in extremely good condition maybe due to the fact the car previously resided in London (apparently less salt on roads in winter) or maybe it was just a fair weather car?
The car retains its owners wallet with the Clio handbooks, the 197 Renault Sport specific supplements & Cabasse stereo handbook.
Maybe these cars will become collectable as many are being broken for spares or track day cars, if your looking for a mechanically sound Clio 197 then this is the one for you.
MOT valid until 30 November 2024 no advisories , I will carry out an oil and filter change for the new owner as I have the filter and oil ready for it (not due yet)
Box folder of receipts for work done and four wheel alignment printout. One of the best handling cars I have ever driven, Everything works as it should (even the door handle micro switches) The Clio is totally standard apart from the map sensor clamp.
Sad to see it go and I will definitely regret selling
According to the Renault App only 42 Clio 197, s in glacier white with the cup pack chassis were produced for the UK, add the leather option and Cabasse stereo upgrade and its probably quite a rare specification.
Any inspection welcome, ramp available to inspect underneath if required.
mileage will go up as it's currently my daily drive.
