Classic Mini Moke 1968 Mk2. Morris. Restored back to original.
Matching numbers, RHD, UK car in Spruce Green. First registered in Leicestershire in September 1968. 850cc engine. Comes with V5C in my name, Heritage Certificate, original VIN and ID plates and some history. MOT and road tax exempt.
This Morris Moke has just been through a complete high end photographic restoration to bring it back to as close as factory condition as possible. The paintwork is as good underneath the car as it is above. With high attention to detail, the car is certainly good enough to enter a concours show.
Bodywork & Hood
Very good condition. It is difficult to see any scratches. The car has been Waxoyld.
Engine & Gearbox
The engine and carburation have been fully serviced and tuned. The gearbox is 4 syncro, and has a new clutch. The car starts first time. All new belts and pumps. The car has been rewired with a new electrical harness.
Tyres, Brakes & Suspension
Period Goodyear Ultragrip tyres, reinforced with innertubes. All new brake pipes, handbrake cables, 7. 5inch Cooper S discs on the front with brand new drums on the rear. Correct new 'grey' shock absorbers all round.
Exhaust
New standard exhaust, coated in heat resistant anti corrosive paint.
Interior
Original steering wheel, speedo and dials showing 67k miles. 4x seats with seat covers and front seat belts.
The Moke is a Cat D, this means it was uneconomical to repair by an insurance company, this is because you couldn't get the replacement panels in the 1990s, however today you can. It has now been repaired to modern-day high standards and is as good as new. FYI - if the car is exported the Cat D will not follow the car to a new country as it is a UK classification.
2024 is the 60th anniversary of Moke production and so it is an excellent time to buy with a number of special events to attend. According to the DVLA database, there are less than 15x 1968 Mokes registered in the UK. Lovely car, the first person to see will buy. Car located in Gloucester not far from the M5 junction.
