2002 Vw Caravelle 2. 5tdi Auto LWB
Rebuilt engine, its had thousands spent on it, a clean and sound van ready for conversion!
Welcome to the sale of our 52 plate surf blue T4 caravelle. Weve had the bus around 12 months now, bought with the aim of doing a full camper conversion however the van isnt being used and we need to release some funds toward home improvements.
The spec
Its a 2002 52 plate 102bhp 2. 5tdi. 10 months MOT. Van has done 214k but the engine has not! Stacks of paperwork - previous owner was a VW nut and had LT's in conversion on his drive, this being his pride and joy. He also had the Engine rebuilt around 20k miles ago and new injector nozzles, see pics. Drives like it too, its really strong. Interior - whilst its clean id say it needs a bit of focus really to bring it to par with the external look and condition. Heated reclining leathers are a nice addition and could be added to. Few dings on the plastics as shown and would be better in black rather than the light grey as its showing its age in spite of cleanliness.
4 speed Auto box. Not the most refined bit of kit as is well documented, but this one is quite quiet and weve done the cv joints and oil was changed last year. Id say its as good as they come. Some swap to manual, but isnt neccesary here.
Two sets of wheels - new 18 inch Porsche wheels with matching near new Continentals all round. Also comes with the 19 inch multispokes, however two tyres are at limit and 1 has a crack needing a weld.
Caravelle spec, so full dual climate, PAS, EW and EM, rear hatch, carpetted throughout. It also has:
Leather trimmed wheel with blue stitching.
Carpet mats
Flocked Centre console
Tinted windows
Immobiliser
Has been fitted with twin reclining heated front leather seats, rears are standard t4 caravelle but easily pop in and out.
All important Rear hatch
Has an awning rail, and thule step fitted.
Witter tow bar.
Van is fitted with a double din Atoto android system, with headrest dvd players (need wiring in), 12inch kenwood sub with amp, and decent front components. Sounds good!
In the last year it has had:
New, very clean Porsche Wheels with hi load Continental tyres all round
New centre exhaust
Rear brake discs and pads plus caliper service
Front pads
Ball joints
New windscreen
New starter solenoid
New recent 019 Bosch battery (warranty passed over), old one still holds charge and comes with the van.
Various usual worn switches changed, such as the brake light switch
Front heater matrix replaced for expensive new steel unit.
Things that need attention:
Small amount of seam rash below drivers door. Its otherwise rust free and really solid, rare for t4's!
Priced at £5795 or very near offer. Superb bus in a fantastic colour, which goes really well. Lots of paperwork.
Gets lots of compliments on how clean it is, and its presence on the road. Bought for a conversion but have no time to complete - its a great, relaible canvas for a camper or use as a smart looking bus or van.
