Description
The model selection in car and classic listings does not accommodate this modelof Daimler so to be clear, it is a 1948 DE36 fitted with a 5. 4 litre straight 8 engine with preselector gearbox. It does not have laundalette bodywork, but was a hearse and is now fitted with very rare freestone and Webb coach work. This car is a project but appears to be complete, with the interior full of parts. I have dry stored it for many years, like the previous owner, and it is for sale as I have two examples of this model and can only restore one. It is not registered with DVLA but full receipt given and the Daimler and Lanchester owners club will assist in returning the original registration number to the car.
The DE36 was a very rare car when new, with approx 200 chassis manufactured by Daimler and supplied to Royalty and Governments. The equivalent purchase cost today would be in the region of £250, 000!
This car is most likely to be turned into a special however it would make for an interesting restoration.
I am happy to work with overseas buyers but the car must be paid for prior to collection. Please also be aware this is a very large vehicle and despite aluminium coachwork it is very heavy.
