Description
This Beetle has undergone a major restoration approximately 5 years ago. The body is in excellent condition and the paint work is lovely.
The colour is Island Green. The chrome work is in great condition with no pickling. All the rubbers are excellent also. It has 2 VW keys that are matching with the front door and engine lid.
All lights, wipers and semaphores work very well. The electrics have been updated to 12volt by the use of a porsche 356/ 912 generator.
The seats and door cards have been trimmed in a vw cloth which was ordered in Germany and has been trimmed by Trimmania and fitted by myself. It is stunning with the headliner which was also done.
Window and quaterlights work well and also seal well.
The brakes on the car were rebuit and it brakes very responsively.
The engine and gearbox are not original to the car. The gearbox is a mid 60's. The synco first is a pleasure.
The engine is a 55year and same month but number does not match. Maybe it actually is. I am saying this because the engine may of changed before Dvla records began?
Anyhow it was rebuilt. Re ground crank, new pistons and barrells. Genuine nos. Straight cut Cam. Okrasa reproduction kit which includes heads, manifolds, carbs etc.
Flamethrower billet Distributor II. 12v generator. Compression is 120psi on all cylinders. It starts very well and idles very smoothly.
It has very good power. It pulls along in 4th up hills really well. Keeps up with local traffic with ease. It changes into gears very smoothly.
Overall this car is in beautiful condition.
The ignition switch will not spring back. I am going to look at this in the week. Also It has no seat
I am open to offers as the car is in the way and has never really been used.
