Subject to a bare metal respray back in 2022 by a local mechanic this bike has all manner of modifications and upgrades too many to list here but should you be interested I can forward a spreadsheet listing all the work carried out and parts replaced for which I have paperwork evidence. In fact there is a lot of documentary evidence to go with this bike. (V5 is in my name.)
Things like a new clutch, starter motor, battery, twin spark plug head with hardened valve seats, twin coils, electronic ignition and Acewell speedometer. Many parts have been replaced over time with stainless steel items including wheel spindles.
The bike runs like a dream and is extremely comfortable over our pot holed roads. Everything that should work does work.
Mileage. The odometer read 82, 421 when I bought it but references in the handbook reported problems at 79, 640; compared to the trip meter and satnav it was recording 3X more mileage plus the warning light printed circuit was broke hence the early fitment of the Acewell instrument which currently records 2, 586 (may change as still in use).
NB. The satnav mount and throttle rest is not included in the sale. Bought last year to be able to enter the Colombres MCI Rally in Spain as my then bike was too new, a 1994 Honda 650NTV. I completed the rally with the BMW which was a delight and must be one of the most comfortable bikes I have ridden over our potholed roads here in the UK.
Reason for selling: I ride all year round and whilst it is a very comfortable bike to ride you are exposed to the elements when riding in bad weather or long motorway stints which I intend to do later in the year riding through France to Spain.
