I am the third owner. I bought the car in 1978. It is a rare Mustang GT Convertible built at the Metuchen, New Jersey Plant for Export. It is fully loaded with the GT Equipment Group which specified the deluxe interior, the rare GT tachometer, passenger clock, hood latching pins and GT gas cap. It is fitted with twin adjustable racing mirrors. Mechanically it is to the book with a 351 Windsor engine and a 2-barrel carb. It has twice been rebuilt - odometer reading 18, 000 miles currently - back to the basic block then reassembled with new components and recently a brand new 2-barrel carb. It has twin electric fans fitted and has a twin exhaust. It has power steering, power brakes (front discs) and a power top.

Since 1978, the car has been properly serviced by a qualified specialist mechanic and recently totally rebuilt by an expert body shop. It was taken back to bare metal, all new metal panels flown in from the USA and completely rebuilt to match the original data plate - the Marti Report for the car is attached. It has had 5 coats of primer each rubbed down and the original Ford Royal Maroon paint applied with a correctly detailed 1969 black hood. The interior was reupholstered with correct GT Equipment Group replica seat covers with colour coded inserts, door trims and carpets. There is a brand-new PVC top supplied by CJ PonyParts.

It has 4 period-correct American Racing mags and BF Goodrich tyres. In the trunk is a rare and original inflatable space-saver spare - inflator supplied. There is a fleece-lined fitted cover. The original steering wheel and a whole box of spares will be provided; however, the car's driving experience is greatly enhanced with a custom-made Moto-Lita 17-inch steering wheel.

I bought it in 1978 to cruise around London and take long road trips in. It has been to Rome once and also down to Monte Carlo. For the last thirty years it has been garaged and only used in the summer to go to car shows. A complete set of paperwork dating back to 1978 including all MOTs will be provided as well as a complete set of photos from the 2023 restoration. This shows the new metal put into the bodywork and the care taken to ensure the car is 100% rust free. Particular attention was paid to the rear end of the car where new wheel arches and sheet metal were installed. Take it from me, unless this work is done on any old Mustang, the rear end of the cars will be full of rust.
