Description

This Spitfire MK2 is a great looking bike, complete and in excellent condition. Following purchase in March 2016 , the bike was re-commissioned by a local classic bike engineer. The work included, fitting new AMAL Concentric carbs ( the original GP carbs are included in the sale); replacement cylinder head with new valves, guides and gaskets; Boyer electronic ignition kit and power box; new control cables; Flowliner tank sealer in fuel tank and new kickstart quadrant.
One of the 4 studs fixing the sump plate has sheered off and will require to be removed.
I have Haynes and other books/ manuals which are included in the sale. Having started riding bikes in the late 60's I always loved the look of this iconic British Twin, but could never afford one at the time! The opportunity arose and I purchased the bike in March 2016 from a local enthusiast. The V5C indicates 3 former keepers, the bike was a USA import and declared manufactured in 1966. The frame and engine numbers are matching.
I used this bike for Summer runs after purchase and found it great fun to ride. The bike has been stored for around 4 years in dry/ warm garage and will require re-commissioned. This is a great bike and straightforward project for someone wanting one of these British classics at an affordable price.
