Built 28/ 07/ 1978 by VW Osnabruck 'Hermann' left the factory in RHD specification and was shipped to VW Distribution Centre Hamburg to be collected by new owner. Imported to UK 23/ 05/ 1990 and passed MOT with only 4241 miles recorded and thereafter 31years with only 12000miles covered with 18 MOT certificates and several service receipts corroborating the mileage.'Hermann' spent several years in storage with some years far less than 100 miles recorded being driven between MOT tests. In 2003 a quality body restoration was carried out by Desmond Smail Ltd to original colour. I purchased 'Hermann' 22/ 05/ 2022-it was by far the best example I could find at that time and proceeded with recommissioning the car mechanically including new shock absorbers, strut inserts, brakes, fuel hoses, gearbox oil and comprehensive engine service(All by Retro Custom Ltd) and have since driven over 4000miles in the car. Hermann is fitted with a correct 'AS' series VEGE Reconditioned engine and runs on Super Unleaded.
