. 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible . 289 (4. 7) V8 and 3 speed C4 auto transmission ( The advert says Manual , it is an Auto but wont let me amend it ). New Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with alloy intake manifold fitted. Twin exhaust system with Flowmaster boxes gives a fantastic sound to the V8. Alloy radiator , Alternator, Alloy fuel tank. It's a non power steering car very light with original excellent drum brakes all round. Bodywork is good but not perfect the paint has chips and micro blistering in a couple of places and also a bit of bubbling at the top of the drivers door. Nice underside. Convertible vinyl excellent condition top is electric and works with a hydraulic pump, (new pump and rams recently fitted) and has a smart clip on cover when its down .. Wheels are polished American Racing alloys with whitewall tyres and are lovely . The chrome is very nice and bumpers perfect Very smart interior , tidy trunk and under the hood . Overall a very nice car that runs and drives extremely well and is always garaged . Easier to live with than most American cars being only 16 feet long and 6ft wide. Speedometer is not working im using a GPS unit that will come with car. Its been lowered but the front is just a little too low and bottoms out catching the tyres too easy on sharp turns, you may wish to take the lowering blocks out . It has a nice retro modern sound system. I last drove her a couple of weeks ago for a car meet 70 miles . I have lots of paperwork , factory workshop manual and some spares to include. I'm not busting to sell her but she's a bit surplus to requirements and ive just bought a yank van but i will continue to use her occasionally meanwhile . A cracking spring buy if you compare whats out there for the money ready to enjoy top down days . I might consider taking a trade in car or bike if you are tempted but that would also need to fit may garage . Merseyside
A great fun American classic , easy to drive in modern traffic , its more compact size 15ft make her easy to manage and fits easily in a standard Uk garage .
The great thing is as shes registered ' Historic 'shes inexpensive to own with classic insurance costing me less that £300 per year Fully Comp , Mot Exempt and Road Tax Exempt and shes pretty much only going to appreciate in value so can make a lot more sense than a modern leisure vehicle !
The powerful 289 V8 mated to the Flowmaster twin exhausts is lively and sounds amazing !
The power top folds completely flat showing off the very tidy interior and with its smart cover looks so cool down .. ready to enjoy the summer .
All the fun of a Mustang for half the cost .
