Description
Watch out for this nugget! GT Butler brings you this Ford Falcon, in a highly desirable Futura version, which has benefited from an exceptional and very high level of preparation! The Ford Falcon, which appeared in the early 1960s as a simple compact, economical and reliable car, stands out in the Futura version, the top-of-the-range version of the iconic model. Under the bonnet was the classic in-line six-cylinder "Thriftpower" engine or, as an option, a "Challenger" V8, which provided even greater vivacity. A key model in Ford's history, the Falcon served as the technical basis for numerous variants, the most famous of which was the first Ford Mustang (1964), which largely used the chassis and running gear. It also gave rise to other derivative models such as the Ranchero (pick-up) and the Mercury Comet. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The vehicle on offer is a unique 1964 Ford Futura, in its most desirable hardtop configuration (windows without pillars). This extremely rare vehicle has benefited from a complete restoration and extensive "The Brainwasher" preparation, with aesthetic inspiration from Ford dealer Romy Hammes' famous Falcon, a tribute to **** Brannan, the man behind Ford's drag racing programme at the time. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CONDITION & HISTORY This Ford Futura is a rare model delivered new in France in 1964. The 3rd owner's registration certificate, dating from 1972, is still present with the vehicle's documents. The vehicle has its original "Wimbledon White" paintwork and is in concours condition, with no defects and no corrosion of course. The interior is absolutely exceptional, with an extremely rare level of preparation and finish. It should be noted that the tachometer is not functional. A service has just been carried out and the V8 starts perfectly both hot and cold, offering a driving experience without reproach. The restoration took 4 years, with the chassis and hull roasted, phosphated and treated, and the chassis reinforced. More than 2000 hours were required to build this project. The paintwork is Wimbledon white Ford 1964, with decorations painted in corked gold leaf. The quality of the work is remarkable.
