Low mileage purple monster! The 2. 3 Auto Ford Scorpio Ghia Estate has served us well as a family car and was bought new by my grandfather who used Ford garage throughout for servicing. Only recently started to show signs of age. Very recent MOT failed on corroded suspension component mounts, with inner and outer sill offside rear and outer sill nearside rear. The works required are perfect for a restorer but not financially practical for us. Monitor: exhaust minor leak, small oil leak around transmission & engine and due to wiring loom issues with original Scorpios of that era, it is recommended most of the loom is systematically replaced now its showing signs of becoming perished. The spark plugs and wiring have been renewed this winter. Has offside dint in front fender otherwise external bodywork in good shape for its age.
Like driving a luxury armchair around. It has all the executive features of the time, including heated mirrors, CD autochanger and leather interior. Plenty of power from the German manufactured 2. 3 litre engine, great handling and impressive turning circle for a large car. It has been in the family from new and will provide many more miles of comfortable motoring.
