For sale is my 1981 Talbot Avenger 1. 6 GL. It is in excellent condition with 32, 500 miles on the clock. It has just passed its MOT with no advisories.
The car has been Ziebarted (I assume from new but do not have the certificate) and the car has never had any welding. The paint wears a few battle scars from my ownership and travels but I have left these so the car remains in as original condition as possible. The interior is perfect and the seats were re-furbished last year to remove the bagginess in the seat facings. Please see the accompanying photos.
It has proved very reliable having taken me to Croatia last year and Norway the year before that without incident. I had the brake calipers refurbished in 2019 and cylinder head gasket replaced in 2020. I have fitted replacement rear shock absorbers and new bushes to the anti-roll bar and drop links. Other than that it has had just routine servicing and cavity waxing.
I have owned the car since 2019. I am only selling it because I have unexpectedly bought another car I have always wanted but never thought I would find and so need to make room.
