RARE 290B CABRIOLET. Extensive history file, 3 owners in last 45 years and newly repainted, new wire wheels and tyres. Recent overhaul of dynamo, starter motor, water pump etc. A beautiful classic car, mine for last 3 years and looks stunning. Autocar road test in 1935 said “Exceptionally interesting car, both in design and on the road, high maintainable speed, real comfort and fine stability” They found it would “keep up 65mph for as long as one wishes on a clear road” and had remarkable cornering capabilities. They seemed to rather like the car with its unique gearbox with 4th gear being effectively an overdrive gear selected without using the clutch.
Favourite feature of this car is that its a very stylish cabriolet but with superb folding roof to keep the elements out and of course wind up windows that weren’t always featured on pre war cars. It’s a very quiet and comfortable car with ample space for 4/ 5 adults
