The Appeal

As the largest market for the R107, America naturally got the widest choice of models. That included the 560SL, which adopted the firm’s interstate-crushing 230bhp 5.5L V8. The long-legged, relaxed appeal of these mile-munchers explains why so many, like this car, are returning to Europe.

Finished in Diamond Blue metallic with matching hard top, dark blue roof and Royal Blue leather cabin, this attractive 560SL is barely run in for a M117-engined car. It comes to market with a recent respray in the original colour, plus a very long list of work. Highlights include new engine mounts, attention to the fuel system and a full service. The Carfax report is said to be clean, only noting some minor damage in 2022, which was rectified by the respray.
