1966 TR4A Iris blue with surrey top.

1 previous UK owner, very nice super solid example with fortunes recently spent. Extensive restoration inc complete body strip down and repaint in its original Iris blue 4 years ago, lovely panels, paint finish and superb underside both chassis and body, no nasty patching or plating, no thick underseal, a rarity in the world of TR’s. Engine previously fully rebuilt with supporting invoices and gearbox just rebuilt also.

Has just gone through a further re-commissioning since restoration and is ready to be enjoyed. 4 x branded tyres, new shocks, steering rack bushes, billet crank pulley conversion, high power starter motor, servo brake conversion along with recent discs and calipers, reconditioned dynamo, fuel pump, heater hoses, engine mounts, stainless steel exhaust system and a lot more. Fully serviced and inspected, all filters and fluids, fresh mot with no advisories for the new custodians peace of mind. Mot, tax and ulez exempt

Quite a rare spec being a factory solid axle, non overdrive TR4A giving it the appeal of simplicity and back to basics, fun, driver orientated motoring which it certainly delivers. It drives very well with a superb tight drivetrain free of the usual slack/ wear associated with lesser or more worn examples, gearbox is a delight having just been rebuilt, the handling is better than a lot of TR’s I’ve driven inc IRS cars and I’d be happy to demonstrate that. Maintains v. good oil pressure with no oil burning.

Originally a dry state US car imported in 1994 (hence condition) and professionally converted to RHD upon arrival. The previous custodian had gotten fed up looking at the mostly rotten UK examples available at the time and made the sensible decision to buy a rust free example. 1 previous UK owner with the last being for 20 years.

Excellent black interior with recently rebuilt seats, new carpets and dash facia, Moto Lita wood rim wheel, instruments and switch gear original and in very good order. Bodywork is very nice and straight, mostly original chrome and trims with a little bit of patina but nothing scruffy at all, expensive Surrey top conversion. Comes with the original soft top, soft top frame and tonneau cover all in very good condition.

Lovely spec given the combination of colour, surrey top and wires that attracts positive attention wherever it goes and is the perfect classic to admire in the garage and hit a show at the weekend via a scenic B road.

Having worked on a lot of TR4's 5's and 6's and looking closely at other examples currently for sale and recently sold I doubt you would find better at this price point. Being a small business based in Aberdeen I’m not asking London dealer prices so it's priced sensibly (fully cheaper than the sum of its recent expenditure) and sold as is with any inspection welcomed.

Located in Aberdeen 15 minutes from both airport and train station. Part exchange welcome car or motorcycle. Call rather than email/ text/ offer to discuss, thanks.
