Description
1983 pilgrim sumo cobra , it is correctly registered on the log book, please see photos, it has had 5 former keepers not including me, I brought this vehicle from a friend who
bought it from a dealer as a non runner, he was told that it has been off the road for many years, judging by the lack of information on the Gov site , it seems to be correct information. Originally it was a 2. 8 injection Ford v 6 , after spending up to £1500 on the injection system, my friend eventually got it going, only to find that it didn’t run very well and was overheating, by this time my friend has had enough, that’s when I bought it, I’m a classic car mechanic with my own successful business, I located a very good second hand replacement engine, I decided to fit a carburettor type engine, far simpler and more reliable than the mechanical injection system, there’s very little history with the car , to be fare I haven’t really looked into it in great detail, the replacement engine is in very good condition, it runs very well, I have also fitted a new alloy radiator, which keeps it nice and cool, other things that I have replaced are, four new tires, overhauled brake master cylinder, new rear brake shoes and cylinders , new air filter, oil and filter change, tappets checked and adjusted, new header tank, new alloy fuel tank and fuel lines, new thermostat, fresh antifreeze, plus much more. It sticks to the road like glue and has plenty of power, I have priced it at £18’000 because of lack of history and an engine change, it also benefits from a very strong galvanised chassis, I would consider a part x up or down, modern or classic, would prefer classic, any inspection welcome. Could come to a deal on delivery in the uk .
